Sonam already has a few scripts in her mind.

Sonam K Ahuja is basking in the success of Veere Di Wedding. She is also enjoying her honeymoon period in the UK with husband Anand Ahuja. But that does not mean she has taken her mind away from work. After conquering the acting world by winning National Award for her role in Neerja, Sonam, once again, has expressed her desire to get behind the camera and direct.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Sonam revealed that her directors, be it Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aanand L Rai, R Balki or Ram Madhvani, have encouraged her to take up the challenge of directing a movie. But the actress added that she will take two or three years to wrap up her current projects and then find time to direct a movie.

The Raanjhanaa star said that she has already found a couple of scripts that have managed to grab her attention. "I have found a couple of scripts. They are mostly ready, but it will still take a little time to work on and finalise them. I think I am going to do something (with regard to directing a film) in a year or two.

"One half of 2018 is already over. That's why I feel it should happen in another one-and-a-half to two years. I intend to continue acting and direct as well -- not in the same film, but at the same time. So let's see how things go."

On the work front, Sonam will be next seen in Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju. She is also sharing the screen space with her father Anil Kapoor in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga. She also has two back to back movies that are book adaptations -- The Zoya Factor and Battle for Bittora. Talking about book adaptations she said, "I just love books. Sometimes, they have more stories to tell than people. It (book adaptations) used to happen (a lot) in the '60s and '70s."

She also told the daily that she will cap her workload at two films a year. "From now on, I will do two films a year, as more than that will a bit too much.
