Now, we hear that the sporty actor has been approached by the Spanish Football League — popularly called La Liga — to popularise the league in India.

Last year, Arjun Kapoor, who is a self-confessed soccer fan, became the owner of football team FC Pune City, which is a part of the Indian Super League. He has been promoting the sport since then and is also associated with training and support programmes for budding footballers through his club. Now, we hear that the sporty actor has been approached by the Spanish Football League — popularly called La Liga — to popularise the league in India.

A source close to the development says, “Football is a sport for the masses and Arjun has a big presence with them. It is a win-win situation for La Liga to rope him to promote their football league here. La Liga will be taking Arjun to Spain as a special guest to watch the potential high octane Real Betis vs Sevilla match on May 12. The league wants to use Arjun’s fan following to capture eyeballs in India — a country where football is in its roots.”

During the course of his stay, Arjun will also explore the city of Seville. He will visit the training grounds of both clubs, watch their demanding practice sessions first hand. The actor will also go to a popular local bar that fans of each club love to hang out in and cheer for their team.
