News 18 quoted a T-Series spokesperson stating, “Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with an illness. This is difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that family’s privacy is respected.”

Born in September 2003, Tishaa was the daughter of Krishan Kumar and his wife Tanya Singh. While T-Series’ statement did not specify the illness with which Tishaa battled, several reports claim that she was suffering from cancer. However, this has not been confirmed so far.

Krishan Kumar is a former actor, who is the younger brother of Gulshan Kumar, the late founder of T-Series. He began his career in films in the 90s as an actor, appearing in a number of films, and best known for the 1995 hit Bewafa Sanam. However, after his acting career did not pan out, Krishan turned to behind-the-camera work. Following Gulshan Kumar’s murder in 1997, Krishan managed T-Series till Gulshan’s son – Bhushan Kumar – came of age.

Both Krishan and Bhushan have jointly run T-Series for over two decades now, transforming it from a music company that occasionally dabbled in films to a full-fledged production house. They have produced films such as Ready, Darling, Airlift, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and Animal.
