Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar are neighbours and good friends. Which is why perhaps the light-eyed actor didn’t mind the many references to the extra thumb in his right hand. In the film Hrithik’s reference comes in when Akshay must produce a prospective bride with an extra thumb before his tradition-bound father Sudhir Pande. In a scene, Akshay and his screen-brother Divyendu Sharma are seen staring at a hoarding of Hrithik. Sharma volunteers. “Maybe we should ask him. He may know someone like that (with an extra thumb).”
There is also a scene in the film where Akshay and his new wife Bhumi decide to get a divorce. And the shocked women of their village are gossiping and again talk about Hrithik and Sussanne’s divorce. The CBFC asks for no-objection certificates before clearing the mention of any real person in a film? It is learnt that Akshay assured the CBFC that Hrithik has been taken into confidence and that he could see the lighter side of the “joke”.
