Whatever Aamir Khan touches turns into pure gold. This not only applies to all the films starring the superstar but also to his television debut. Do you know that Aamir Khan, who entered the TV world through 'Satyamev Jayate', also got the idea for his all-time blockbuster in Indian cinema through the same?
While hosting the third season of 'Satyamev Jayate' in 2014, Aamir Khan narrated the story of two girls who overcame all the odds to create history for India. Aamir Khan welcomed wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat to his show on who he later based his film 'Dangal'.
During that 1 hour episode of the show 'Satyamev Jayate', Aamir Khan got so transfixed that Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat's life stories gave him the idea to make 'Dangal'. The film became a huge success and created history in Bollywood after it was released in 2016.
'Dangal' was a megahit film starring Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become India's first world-class female wrestlers.
It has been 8 years now since 'Dangal' was released, however, the film continues to rule the record charts to this date. The Aamir Khan film is the highest-grossing Indian film with a humungous lifetime collection of Rs 2,024 crore.
Since Aamir Khan got the idea for the film 'Dangal' while he was shooting 'Satyamev Jayate' on TV, it would not be wrong to say that the superstar has earned over Rs 2000 crore from TV, the only factor to ever do so.
