Meet actress who charged Rs 1 crore a minute, then never got lead role; not Deepika, Priyanka, Aishwarya, Alia, Katrina

Urvashi Rautela charged Rs 3 crore for her three-minute appearance in the song Cult Mama in the 2023 Telugu action film Skanda, which bombed at the box office.

Directed by Boyapati Srinu and headlined by Ram Pothineni, the Telugu action drama Skanda: The Attacker was released in September 2023 and had received negative reviews. Made in Rs 95 crore, the film bombed at the box office as it just collected Rs 59 crore globally. It also starred  Sreeleela, Saiee Manjrekar, Srikanth, Sharath Lohithaswa, Ajay Purkar, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Daggubati Raja and Prince Cecil in pivotal roles.

Urvashi Rautela also made a cameo appearance in Skanda in the song Cult Mama, which was composed by National Award-winning composer Thaman S, written by Raghuram, and sung by Hemachandra and Ramya Behara. As per reports, the actress charged Rs 3 crore for her 3-minute cameo in the song, which took her fees to Rs 1 crore per minute.

Talking about Urvashi's Bollywood career, she made her acting debut in 2013 in Sunny Deol's Singh Saab The Great, and then later on appeared in multiple films including Bhaag Johnny, Sanam Re, Great Grand Masti, Hate Story 4, Pagalpanti. She has also acted in Kannada, Bengali, Tamil, and Telugu films.

The actress's most recent release is Jahangir National University, which hit theatres on June 21. The political drama, directed by Vinay Sharma, also stars Siddharth Bodke, Rashami Desai, Ravi Kishan, Vijay Raaz, and Piyush Mishra in the leading roles. The film has been called as a propaganda, and has received negative reviews.
