During the production of this film, the leading actress died after almost completing the film. The late leading actress was replaced by another star, and her portions were reshot.

Laadla (1994), this action drama was directed by Raj Kanwar, and Anees Bazmee wrote the film's screenplay. Laadla was the remake of Kannada film Anuraga Aralithu (1986). The Rajkumar-starrer was even remade in Tamil, with Rajinikanth's Mannan (1992), and even in Telugu with Chiranjeevi's Gharana Mogudu (1992). The movie also stars Sridevi, Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Aruna Irani, Paresh Rawal, Prem Chopra, Mohnish Behl, and Shakti Kapoor in key roles
Actors who rejected Laadla
As per IMDb, Nagma was approached to reprise her role from the Telugu version. However, the actress was planning to leave films, thus she rejected the movie. In another report, it was mentioned that Laadla was planned with Rishi Kapoor and producer Nitin Manmohan. However, Rishi was replaced by Anil.

The makers signed Divya Bharti as the female lead Sheetal Choudhary. The actress shot more than 50% of the film.
However, due to her sudden death on April 5, 1993, she could not complete the film. Later, Sridevi was signed to play the role. It was also reported, that Sridevi was shown Divya's reels so that the former could understand the character better.
