Laadla (1994), this action drama was directed by Raj Kanwar, and Anees Bazmee wrote the film's screenplay. Laadla was the remake of Kannada film Anuraga Aralithu (1986). In another report, it was mentioned that Laadla was planned with Rishi Kapoor and producer Nitin Manmohan. However, Rishi was replaced by Anil.

However, due to her sudden death on April 5, 1993, she could not complete the film. Later, Sridevi was signed to play the role. It was also reported, that Sridevi was shown Divya's reels so that the former could understand the character better.
