Truly moving moment for me and family: Vicky Kaushal on winning National Award for best actor in 'Uri'

Vicky Kaushal has bagged best actor at National Awards for his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana

66th National Film Awards winners list are out now! While Uri and AndhaDhun won big in the ceremony which was hosted in New Delhi, both the movie actors aka Vicky Kaushal and Ayushmann Khurrana also shared the honour of winning best actor.

Ayushmann Khurrana recently opened up on winning the award and mentioned that the win acts as validation of his work and belief system. While Ayushmann won the award for his movies AndhaDhun and Badhaai Ho, Vicky Kaushal was honoured as best actor for his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike.

Here's what Vicky's statement read:

Words might fall short to descirbe the happiness I'm feeling right now. For my work to be recognised by the honourable National Film Awards Jury is truly a moving moment for me and my family. I wish to thank each and every member of the jury committee for finding me worthy of the prestigious Best Actor Award for my work in URI- The Surgical Strike.

I'm also very happy to be sharing the award with someone who I admire, both as a person and as an actor. Ayushmann, congratulations brother! I wish to dedicate this Award to my parents, to every member of Team URI, to our nation and to our armed forces who put their lives on the line each day, come rain or storm. Thank You!
