Rhea Chakraborty filed a fresh plea in the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday and complained of media unfairly holding a trial and pronouncing her guilty for Sushant Singh Rajput's death. In her plea, Rhea mentioned two other actors Ashutosh Bhakre and Sameer Sharma who had also committed 'suicide' like Sushant Singh Rajput in the last 30 days, however, there is not even a whisper in media around these cases.
In her plea, Rhea further added that Sushant Singh Rajput's case is being blown out of proportions because of impending elections in Bihar and that purportedly the FIR at Patna was registered because Bihar CM got involved in the registration of FIR.
For the uninformed, on Monday, Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) again in connection with money laundering charges.
Showik, who went to the ED office around noon on Saturday, was seen leaving after more than 18 hours around 7 am on Sunday. According to officials, he had reportedly given "evasive or unconvincing replies" to the ED team quizzing him and that is why he was summoned again on Monday.
The ED took over the case based on a Bihar Police FIR on the complaint of Sushant's father KK Singh, who alleged that Rs 15 crore was withdrawn or transferred from his son's Kotak Mahindra Bank account holding Rs 17 crore.
The ED had registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Rhea and her family members based on Singh's complaint submitted at the Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna. The ED is seeking details of the financial transactions of the two companies in which she and her brother were directors along with Sushant.
