Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma in a still from Sui Dhaaga: Made in India

Varun and Anushka saw the first cut of the trailer this week and both of them were overwhelmed. They want to take the movie’s heartfelt message to as many people as possible.

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are not only among the most talented and in-demand Hindi film stars but also thorough professionals when it comes to promoting their movies. So, it comes as no surprise that both the actors have asked their respective management teams to keep aside 40 full days in their diaries to promote their September 28 release (just four days before Gandhi Jayanti) Sui Dhaaga: Made in India. It’s a social drama that talks about finding love and respect through self-reliance. It’s a universal and relevant subject that impacts the country’s youth.

A source said, “Varun and Anushka saw the first cut of the trailer this week and both of them were overwhelmed. They want to take the movie’s heartfelt message to as many people as possible. While most actors allocate just about 20 days for promotions these days, they are both giving 40 days each because they are super-confident about the film.”

Sui Dhaaga: Made In India is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy and takes inspiration from the government’s Make In India campaign. While Varun plays the role of a tailor, Anushka plays an embroiderer in the film. The two actors have been paired opposite each other for the first time and are definitely one of the most-awaited on-screen jodis of 2018. The National Award-winning team of director Sharat Kataria and producer Maneesh Sharma (for Dum Laga Ke Haisha) seem to have raised the bar with the looks they have crafted for their lead actors.

When contacted, Maneesh said, “Varun and Anushka are exceptional performers and they have outdone themselves in Sui Dhaaga. They had believed in the core message of the film since the day we narrated it to them and they have told us that they are eagerly looking forward to sharing their conviction with the audiences. It is a dream project for Yash Raj Films and we intend to passionately promote a film that we are incredibly confident about.”
