Many Bollywood folks, especially those from the previous generations, were said to be a superstitious lot. While the Gen Now is not said to be so very particular, some do tend to find some connect to an event. One reason why Varun Dhawan is optimistic about his Friday's release Sui Dhaaga - Made In India is that India plays Pakistan in the Asia Cup Final on the same day.
The last time this young superstar had a movie releasing on the same day as an Indo-Pak was when Main Tera Hero (MTH) opened in cinemas. That time, India defeated Pakistan and Varun's Main Tera Hero also became a hit.
So now with optimism about India's victory over Pakistan on Friday, Varun is also upbeat that Sui Dhagaa will repeat the same feat of Main Tera Hero.
Sui Dhaaga, which releases in cinemas this Friday, also stars Anushka Sharma, who will be seen playing the character of Mamta, Varun's on screen wife. The film has been directed by Dum Laga Ke Haisha fame Sharat Kataria.
