While many people are aware of Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor’s dosti, few know that the former is equally fond of Sonam Kapoor. Varun’s dad, David Dhawan, and Sonam’s father, Anil Kapoor, have had a long association. The two youngsters would sometimes meet during outdoor schedules of the films that their fathers would be working on. Besides Anil and David’s work collaboration, the Kapoors and Dhawans have been family friends, too. “David and his family are invited to all the celebrations at Anil and Sunita Kapoor’s home. David’s sons Rohit and Varun are good friends with Arjun, Sonam and Harshvardhan,” says a source. No wonder then, the actor is keen to participate in the celebrations that are to be held during Sonam and Anand Ahuja’s wedding next week. However, Varun is currently busy shooting for Kalank. To make sure that he can spend some time at the events, the actor has requested the makers to let him off early on May 7 and 8.
On May 7, a mehendi function will be held at Sonam and Anand’s home at Bandra-Kurla Complex, while on May 8, a big bash will be hosted by the couple’s family at The Leela after the wedding ceremony, which will be held the same morning. The to-be-married couple has decided to be eco-friendly and sent out e-invites. Many of Sonam’s childhood friends from the industry along with those from her social circle will be at the do. Says a source, “Varun is keen to attend the dos that will be held in the evening. And so, he will wrap up his work early on those two days.”
