Speculations about Sonam Kapoor's supposed impending wedding with her long-time boyfriend Anand Ahuja have been rife for the longest time. Especially after Anushka Sharma took everyone by surprise by getting hitched to Virat Kohli in December last year, rumour mills were busy churning that the next ones to join the bandwagon of matrimony will be Sonam Kapooor-Anand Ahuja and Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh.
While a BollywoodLife report on Friday suggested that Sonam may finally tie the knot with Anand in June this year. The said report also suggested that the wedding may take place in London, which also happens to be one of the favourite vacation places of the duo.
Now, a Mumbai Mirror report on Saturday suggests that Sonam and Anand may in fact get married a month earlier, i.e., in May this year. The report also adds that the wedding ceremonies will take place over a period of two days and it's likely to take place in Geneva on May 11-12.
Apparently, last week Sonam spent some time with her Delhi-based businessman beau Anand in London and after a brief time with him, she flew down to Austria to indulge in a five-day spa retreat at her favourite resort. While it was already being speculated that it will be a destination wedding for Sonam and Anand and places like Jaipur and Udaipur were being considered initially, the actress finally zeroed in on Geneva in January this year. The actress was in Geneva in January to fulfil her work commitments for a Swiss watch brand that she endorses. She was accompanies by her sister Rhea. It was then that she decided that Geneva will be the perfect venue for her big day.
A source from the team who's planning the big fat destination wedding told the tabloid, "The date and venue for the wedding have been locked and mass bookings for flights are presently underway. Her dad Anil Kapoor is personally making phone calls to invite guests. There will be sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, followed by a traditional Hindu wedding." The source further added, "The nuptials will be preceded by an engagement ceremony attended by the family’s inner circle but the venue for that is presently not known."
The tabloid also suggests that a number of designers have gone into a frenzy of sorts on coming to know about the rumours of Sonam's wedding, in order to outdo each other to get the job of designing the wedding trousseau of the actress. But reportedly, the actress has already ticked that part off her list by trusting the family favourite designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and close friends, designer duo Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo, with their wedding wardrobe.
While there hasn't been any official announcement from either of the families, Sonam and Anand Ahuja's frequnt PDA on social media has also started grabbing eyeballs. Watch this space....
