Mouni Roy

'Gold' starring Mouni Roy and Akshay Kumar released on August 15

Television actress Mouni Roy is not just a popular face on the small screen anymore.

The actress has ascended the success ladder and has gained more popularity as she made her big Bollwood debut opposite actor Akshay Kumar with the historical drama Gold

Apart from Gold, the Naagin of Indian television has three more films in her kitty, including RAW (Romeo Akbar Walter) opposite John Abraham, Made In China with Rajkummar Rao and Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra, and so it seems like she is on cloud nine.

But with Bollywood embracing her with open arms and so many films in the pipeline, will Mouni return to the television industry?

On this Mouni, in an interview, told DNA, "I am never leaving TV. I am a very proud television actor and it has given me everything and has made me who I am today. So I have extreme love and regards for television."

Good to know that we will see Mouni doing the good old daily soaps too.

But how has working for TV been different from films?

"Only the medium is different. Here the character playing is for shorter months, while over there (for television) you have to do it for atleast a year. Also that movies have songs!" Mouni said.

Mouni, who essays the character of Tapan Das's (Akshay Kumar) wife in Gold also said that working on the film was "most definitely" less tiring than shooting for a TV show.

Mouni Roy, at the moment is yet completely overwhelmed. The fact that she is a part of a film of such a magnitude "has not completely sunk in".

Gold which released on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15, also stars Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, and is directed by Reema Kagti.
