The first official trailer for Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor's horror-comedy Stree was unveiled on Thursday and the vibe couldn't be funnier and spookier.
The trailer begins with Pankaj Tripathi's character Rudra narrating the origin of the witch that comes out in the dead of the night and kills men leaving only their clothes behind. This is why all the houses in the town have 'O Stree kal aana,' (O lady come tomorrow) painted on their walls.
On the sidelines of this scary business, there is Rajkummar Rao, a local tailor who falls for Shraddha Kapoor's character. Kapoor's small-town girl visits Chanderi just to attend the village festival. The duo gets to know each other while the beats to a funky Mika Singh song plays in the background.
Things take turn for worse when Rajkummar's friends assume that Shraddha's character is the 'Stree' everyone is afraid of. The townsmen are baffled, wondering if the witch/ghost knows them by their Aadhar numbers, decide to tackle the issue once and for all. What happens next shall be revealed when the movie comes out on August 31.

The funnier side of the trailer is held by Rajkummar Rao's motor mouth and Pankaj Tripathi's witty lines.
Apart from the aforementioned cast, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee are also part of the movie.
Producers Dinesh Vijan and Raj & DK have delivered the brilliant horror-comedy Go Goa Gone. Now they are backing their first AD on that project, Amar Kaushik who is debuting with the movie.
