Anushka Sharma gave her fans a pleasant surprise by sharing a photo of herself looking pretty in white on the occasion of Diwali. The photos shared by her went viral instantly. A YouTube channel however decided to morph her picture and add 'ek chutki sindoor' to it.
A Twitter user noticed the change and raised a question on the need to add a sindoor to her photo. Most other comments were all about 'sanskaar' and 'Indian aunties approving the channel'.
Needless to say, the YouTube channel 'Universal In Sights' received a lot of backlash for the photoshop.
Here are some of the comments:
For the uninformed, it has been a ritual among Hindu married women to wear a sindoor, red bangles and a mangalsutra. Over the years, the stigma around constantly wearing a sindoor or mangalsutra broke and now it is the woman's choice.
Decked up for Diwali celebrations, Anushka Sharma exuded radiance as she dazzled in an elegant white outfit as she hid her baby bump with the help of her beautiful dupatta. However, her pregnancy glow wasn't something that she could hide.
The actress-turned-producer teamed her outfit with matching white chudidaar, golden earrings, white and gold juttis and kept her hair open as she posed for the captures with a beautiful smile on her face.
“Got all dressed up to sit at home and eat. And it was great. Hope you all had a beautiful Diwali,” Anushka captioned the post.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli announced they are expecting to turn parents earlier this year. They are set to welcome their first child in January 2021.
