Shah Rukh Khan's much-anticipated film 'Zero' starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif finally released on December 21. It got released in 5965 screens across the world, with 4380 being in India.
Being an Aanand L Rai film, it was an experiment for Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a dwarf in the film. Not only SRK, the film even saw Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif experimenting in their roles, playing a renowned scientist with celebral palsy and an alcoholic superstar respectively.
While the performances by them were next to phenomenal, the script of this film didn’t seem to touch anyone and hence, from day one till a week, Zero has unfortunately not even managed to enter the 100-crore club which is a usual thing for SRK films.
It earned 90.39 crore on Thursday and considering the constant drop, it is extremely difficult to recover the losses or even enter the 100-crore-club any time soon. Here are the total collections with per day break-up:
Friday - Rs 20.16 crore
Saturday- Rs 18.22 crore
Sunday - Rs 20.71 crore
Monday - Rs 9.50 crore
Tuesday - Rs 12.75 Crore
Wednesday - Rs 4.80 crore
Thursday - Rs 4.25 crore
Week one total - Rs 90.39 crore
Considering Shah Rukh Khan's film has been made on a hefty Rs. 2 billion, it now appears that the film is one of the big flops of 2018, just like Salman Khan’s Race 3 and Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan.
Rohit Shetty’s Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, backed by Karan Johar, has also released on Friday, and with mostly good word-of-mouth, the movie is expected to witness one of the best openings of 2018, making it even more difficult for Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero to sustain at the Box Office for longer.
