When Karan Johar announced that he will be producing the Hindi remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat last year, there were many questions on people’s minds. They wondered how much of the original plot will director Shashank Khaitan retain? And what would happen to Ajay-Atul’s composition Zingaat, which became a chartbuster? After Hrs has learnt that the track has got an upgrade of sorts.
Time to Zingaat!
The makers sure were aware of the massive popularity of Zingaat. So, it made perfect sense to retain it. Reveals a source, “Karan and Shashank were both on the same page. They love Zingaat and the song will be something to watch out for.”
The Hindi remake
The Hindi version has been tweaked a bit. “While the tune remains the same, the lyrics will be altered. The title — Zingaat — may change as they may come up with another catchy phrase,” our source tells us.
Farah does it!
Farah Khan has been roped in to design the song. Although she had previously decided not to choreograph for other films, she’s always been there for her friends. “Karan made one call to her and she immediately agreed,” says a source close to the Happy New Year director. “Unlike the original, where the song was a freestyle dance number, Farah will choreograph some signature moves for the Hindi version. Ishaan and Janhvi are terrific dancers so it will be great to see them groove together,” our source adds.
The shoot begins...
The cast is currently filming the song. “Farah along with Ishaan, Janhvi, and her team have been rehearsing. They began shooting in Mumbai on Saturday. The track will be wrapped up in a few days.”
