Bringing good news for retired central employees, the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare on September 20, Monday, released a memorandum notifying that the DR (dearness relief) of CPF beneficiaries, who are alive, has been increased to 356 percent from 312 percent. Central employees who retired between November 18, 1960, to December 31, 1985, will be able to enjoy this hike.
With this latest revision, the revised DR hike will be given to retired employees from July 1, 2021. A total of three amount of COF benefits were left from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021.
The decision to increase the amount of ex-gratia for CPF beneficiaries was taken under the 5th CPC series, the department said.
The rule comes into effect from July 1 this year and CPF beneficiaries under Group A, B, C and D will receive an ex-gratia amount on the basis of Rs 3000, 1000, 750, and 650. This rule is from 4th June 2013.
The DR of pensioners of another category of retired employees has also been increased to 356 percent from 306 percent bringing good news for retired central employees before Diwali. In this rule, the widows and children of beneficiaries will get an ex-gratia of Rs 645 per month.
