Ford has just launched the all-new Endeavour SUV at Rs 24.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Endeavour will go up against the Toyota Fortuner and the Hyundai Santa Fe in the Indian market.
Here's all you need to know about the car.
-- This is the third generation of the Endeavour.
-- The all-new Endeavour is available in two trims -- Trend and Titanium.
-- Dimensions: 4,892mm x 1,860mm x 1,893mm.
-- The Ford Endeavour gets a wheelbase of 2,850 mm and a ground clearance of 225mm.
On the outside
== Both the variants get front fog lamps, a rear spoiler with high mounted stop lamp, body coloured front and rear bumper, roof rails. While the Trend trim gets body coloured door handles, the Titanium trim gets door handles with chrome finish.
-- Both trims get remote keyless entry and central locking.
Under the hood:
The Endeavour gets two diesel engines -- the 2198cc 2.21 TDCI and the 3,198cc 3.21 TDCi engine. The smaller capacity engine can make 160 PS and a maximum torque of 385 Nm at 1,600-2,500 rpm. While the larger 3.2-litre engine is good for 200 PS of power and 470 Nm of maximum torque at 1,750 - 2,500 rpm.
-- While the 2.2-litre TDCi engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual with the option of automatic gearshift, the larger 3.2-litre TDCi comes mated only to the automatic gearbox.
On the inside
-- There are three rows of seats
-- The front bucket seats come with centre armrest with storage.
-- On the back, the rear armrest gets a cup holder. the second and third rows of seats get rear air conditioner switches and ceiling vents
-- There are four power outlets
-- Both trims get remote keyles entry, central locking, power foldable and adjustable outside mirrors and rear parking sensors.
-- Tilt adjustable steering wheel on both the trims come with audio and voice controls.
-- Various driving modes can be engaged by a turning the dial. The shift-fly Terrain Management System gives you driving modes like Sand Mode, Snow/Mud Mode and rock Mode for off-roading. There's a Hill Launch Assist and Hill Descent Control to safely cruise through rocky areas.
For safety, the Endeavour gets two airbags as standard, while the top-spec gets seven airbags. All the trims get ABS with EBD.
For infotainment, the Ford SYNC system has Bluetooth and Aux connectivity, a touchscreen, FM/AM radio and two USB ports. It also get s a CD and MP3 player and integrated noise cancellation.
-- The all-new Endeavour is available in six colours -- Sunset Red, Golden Bronze, Moondust Silver, Panther Black, Diamond White and Smoke Grey.
