MUMBAI: Emirates Airlines is augmenting its services to India with 18 new weekly flights, starting July 1.
With this, Emirates' will have 132 flights per week between India and Dubai, the highest for any international carrier operating out of this country.
Close on the heels of its recent commitment to introduce a second daily operation to New Delhi, Emirates will introduce four additional weekly flights - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays - from July 2.
Bangalore will get seven new weekly flights, two from July and five from October, taking the total Emirates Airlines operations between India's software capital and Dubai to 15 services a week.
The new services are being strategically timed to cater to the ensuing holiday season and will also help improve cargo tonnage to over 300 tonnes per week, Emirates Airline vice president for India and Nepal Orhan Abbas announced here on Thursday afternoon.
All the new flights will be operated by Boeing 777 and A330-200 aircraft and add over 5,900 seats on the Dubai-India sector, he said.
Describing trade relations between India and Dubai as outstanding and poised for further growth next year, Abbas said Emirates on its part would support India's growth by providing strong and efficient air link.
