Emirates Airline has decided to reduce its services on the Beijing and Shanghai routes even as its 163 flights every week to 10 Indian destinations remain unchanged.

Beginning March 29, the airline will not operate its EK 304 and EK 305 Dubai-Shanghai-Dubai flights on Tuesdays and EK 308 and EK309 Dubai-Beijing-Dubai services on Sundays, a company spokesperson told reporters here.

Starting July, the same services will not operate on Mondays and Thursdays respectively.

This will reduce the airline's double-daily services to Shanghai and Beijing to 12 flights a week each compared with 14 now. But Emirates will continue to operate EK 304 and EK 305 and EK 308 and EK 309 flights on the remaining days of
the week.

"The decision was made after a routine review of our operations, which we periodically conduct to ensure the best utilisation of our aircraft fleet for our overall business objectives," the airline said.

The daily service to Guangzhou in China's industrial heartland will continue normally.

India, which accounts for roughly one-tenth of its destination network, will however not see a capacity reduction. "There are no plans to cut capacity to India," the spokesperson said.
