Hero gets ‘Hero’ response: Girl donates her savings for Kerala floods, Twitter helps her getting bicycle

A baby girl from Tamil Nadu has donated Rs 9,000 to help victims of flood-ravaged Kerala.

A baby girl from Tamil Nadu has donated Rs 9,000 to help victims of flood-ravaged Kerala. Anupriya from Vizhuppuram has been saving for her bicycle from last four years but when she witnessed the level of suffering due to the floods in the southern state she did not waste a minute in deciding that her dream of owning a bicycle could wait. 

But thanks to Hero Cycles, Anupriya did not have to wait longer. A Twitter user by the name of Ethirajan Srinivasan tweeted a local newspaper cutting translating the headline. He said, "Kid, Anupriya from Vizhuppuram, TN, donates Rs 9,000, her 4 years Piggy Bank savings, that she saved to buy a bicycle, towards #KeralaFloodRelief." 

The tweet did not go unnoticed. Hero Cycles quickly replied to Srinivasan announcing that they would love to gift her a bicycle in exchange of this grand gesture she made. 

Hero Cycles tweeted, "Dear Anupriya, We appreciate your gesture to support humanity in the hour of need. You would get a brand new cycle from us. Please DM your address or contact us at customer@herocycles.com."

Kerala has been dealing with unprecedented floods following torrential rains that also triggered landslides, claiming over 300 lives since August 8 besides disrupting normalcy in every sphere of life. While every citizen pray sfor the well being of god's own country. 

But like they said the more the better and we should not forget that every bit counts. Below we have listed out various ways via which you can also make your contribution to the well-being of the flood victims in the state. 

1. Amazon

Amazon India has tied up with NGOs in order to provide much-needed help to the Kerala victims. To donate via Amazon, all you need to do is to login to your Amazon account. You can see the list of Amazon's list of various NGOs that are doing their bit from providing help to the shelters to taking care of groceries and daily need items. You can select any NGOs according to your preference. 

After selecting the NGO, you can select products across categories which you want to send through your NGO. Then proceed to checkout and write the gift registry address. The last step is to make the payment. 

2. Paytm

Paytm ahs also given an option to donate via its app. Click on the Kerala icon and you will be able to see choices of fund you would want your contribution to go through. The visible choices are Kerala CM's Distress Relief Fund, gaon Connection Fund and Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation. 

3. Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF)

The Chief Minister also appealed the citizen to make a donation. Following are the account details if you want to donate directly to the CM's fund.
