In yet another major hit to the pockets of the common man in India, the rates of Amul Milk have been raised in several major states across the country. As per the revised rates, the prices have been hiked by Rs 2 per litre in many metropolitan cities.
According to the latest updates, the price of Amul Doodh has been raised by Rs 2 per litre across various states such as Delhi, Gujarat, and West Bengal. Due to the current rise in prices in Amul, it is likely that other milk brands will also increase their rates.
The current price rise in Amul Milk will be implemented across places like Gujarat, Delhi, West Bengal, and other national capital regions. Prices of Amul's Gold, Shakti, and Taaza milk brands increased by Rs 2 per litre, according to the authorities.
The new price of Amul Gold 500 grams is Rs 31 while the new price of Amul fresh 500 grams is 25 rupees. The new price of Amul Shakti Milk for 500 grams is 28 rupees, as per the revised rates.
The main reason behind the increase in rates of milk products in Amul is the increase in the costs of production and manufacturing in the Amul plants. Now, due to the rise in Amul Milk prices, other brands are also expected to revise the rates.
Shortly after Amul Milk hiked its prices, Mother Dairy also announced that it will be raising its price for some products by Rs 2 per litres.
A company official on Tuesday said it is "compelled" to raise its liquid milk prices by Rs 2 per litre with effect from August 17, 2022. The new prices will be applicable for all milk variants.
Full cream milk will cost Rs 61 per litre from Wednesday, up from Rs 59 per litre. Prices of toned milk will increase to Rs 51 while double toned milk will rise to Rs 45 per litre. Cow milk price have been hiked to Rs 53 per litre.
