Jetfleet ties up with Europcar for car rental services

Jetfleet will start with operations in Delhi next month with a fleet of about 30 cars and will gradually expand to other cities like Bangalore in November and Mumbai by December.

NEW DELHI: Naresh Goyal-promoted Jetair group company, Jetfleet on Wednesday entered into a tie-up with major fleet operator Europcar for car rental operations in India.

"As per the agreement we will be the master franchisee for Europcar in India and we will run the fleet services," Jetair Chief Executive Officer Mahiyar M Sadri said.

The tie-up marks Europcar's return to India after about five years and the the tie-up would focus on providing personal mobility solution to the corporate sector.

"In three year's time we plan to have a fleet of about 800-900 cars and we are also looking at the possibility of bringing self drive services as well," Sadri said, however, declining to comment on the planned investments.

The company plans to start services in Kolkata, Chennai, Agra, Jaipur an Pune by next year followed by Goa, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh in 2008.

Jetfleet plans to equip all its vehicles with advanced GPS system and aims to provide value added services to its customers.
