The recruiting process started again after a freezing of two years. 

According to the report published in the Economic Times, the e-commerce giant would hire employees in areas of data science and analytics, among other specialisations.

“Flipkart is aggressively hiring in tech functions. Over 4/5th of all current open positions at Flipkart is for technology functions,” confirmed a spokesperson for Flipkart to the newspaper. 

The source further added that the “aggressive tech hiring is part of the company’s ‘AI for India’ programme, which leverages Flipkart’s strengths in tech and data to build scalable AI-powered solutions for the country”. For this, the retailer has kept about 50 data sciences positions open. 

Meanwhile, a study conducted by LinkedIn revealed that Indian professionals would be more keen to work for homebased firms like Paytm, Flipkart over global giants like Amazon and Google, a LinkedIn report revealed. 

LinkedIn has revealed the list of top 10 firms Indians would like to work for 2018. 

Interestingly, the first three spots were grabbed by Directi, Flipkart and One97 Communications (Paytm). 

LinkedIn has prepared the list on the basis of data considering billions of actions by more than 546 million professionals on the online professional network platform.

“The top companies list highlights the companies where professionals in India want to work now, from homegrown companies to global giants. Studying the job interest rates, engagement with the company pages on the platform as well as retention rates, we found several common threads that make these companies the most preferred among Indian professionals,” said Adith Charlie, India Editor, LinkedIn.

Amazon, which held the second spot for the past two consecutive years in the list, is now slipped to fourth spot.
