Kerala has been dealing with unprecedented floods following torrential rains that also triggered landslides, claiming over 300 lives since August 8 besides disrupting normalcy in every sphere of life. While every citizen pray sfor the well being of god's own country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took a stock of the relief operations in the city.
Meanwhile, more than 20 lorries carrying relief materials worth Rs 2 crore from all districts in the state was flagged off to flood-ravaged Kerala.
With the Chief Minister announcing Rs 5 crore financial assistance to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress fund again, the relief materials collected from all the districts in the states were despatched, Local Administration Minister, S P Velumani, who flagged off the vehicles said.
Items like rice, Dal, edible oil, sugar, salt, bread and biscuits and cooking materials, clothings, medicines collected from NGOs and other social organisataions were sent to the Waynad, Malappuram, Thrissur, Palakkad, Calicut and Ernakulam, he said.
But like they said the more the better and we should not forget that every bit counts. Below we have listed out various ways via which you can also make your contribution to the well-being of the flood victims in the state.
1. Amazon
Amazon India has tied up with NGOs in order to provide much-needed help to the Kerala victims. To donate via Amazon, all you need to do is to login to your Amazon account. You can see the list of Amazon's list of various NGOs that are doing their bit from providing help to the shelters to taking care of groceries and daily need items. You can select any NGOs according to your preference.
After selecting the NGO, you can select products across categories which you want to send through your NGO. Then proceed to checkout and write the gift registry address. The last step is to make the payment.
2. Paytm
Paytm ahs also given an option to donate via its app. Click on the Kerala icon and you will be able to see choices of fund you would want your contribution to go through. The visible choices are Kerala CM's Distress Relief Fund, gaon Connection Fund and Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation.
3. Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF)
The Chief Minister also appealed the citizen to make a donation. Following are the account details if you want to donate directly to the CM's fund.
