Lexus India has introduced its flagship LX 450d variant at Rs 2.32 crore (ex-showroom price New Delhi) and will directly compete with British SUV giant Range Rover in the Indian market. In addition, Lexus, which is Toyota’s luxury car division, will also compete with Mercedes Benz, which has so far controlled the Indian market.
Design
For its 2017 model, the SUV was given an upgrade in design, luxury, and performance for the previous model year and added standard Lexus Safety System+ with emergency automatic braking.
The LX450d makes an unforgettable entrance wherever it goes, thanks to the bold Lexus signature spindle grille, framed by elegant satin chrome trim. Standard LED headlights, turn signals and fog lamps provide a captivating lighting signature.
Engine
The Lexus LX450d, which shares its platform with the Toyota Land Cruiser, gets a 4.5-litre diesel engine with a power of 261 break horsepower, and a torque of 650Nm, mated to six-speed automatic which transfers the power to all the wheels. It also has a mileage of 9.6 km/litre.
Performance
The Lexus LX450d SUV can go from 0-100kmph in just 8.6 seconds with a top speed of 210kmph.
