Louis Vuitton head Bernard Arnault dethrones Jeff Bezos as world's richest

In January 2021, Louis Vuitton had acquired America’s largest jewellery maker Tiffany & Co. for USD 15.8 million

Bernard Arnault, owner of the leading fashion luxury goods conglomerate Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey (LMVH) has yet again dethroned Amazon founder and billionaire, Jeff Bezos and has become the richest man in the world. 

According to the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List, the French business tycoon's net worth was recorded at $198.9 billion. Keep in mind that the Forbes list is dynamic and can change at any given time since it is based on real-time. 

This is not Arnault's first time being number one, he has been declared as the richest man quite a few times before as well in December 2019, January 2020, May 2021, and July 2021. 

Arnault recently overtook Elon Musk, owner of Space X and Tesla in its first quarter with a revenue of €14 billion in 2021. Recently, he also spent $538 million dollars to acquire the shares of his own French label. 

Arnault looks after a consortium of 70 brands including Louis Vuitton, Sephora, Tiffany & Co, Stella McCartney, Gucci, Christian Dior and Givenchy. His four out of five children help him manage his empire - Frédéric, Delphine, Antoine and Alexandre.

In January 2021, LVMH acquired America’s largest jewellery maker Tiffany & Co. for USD 15.8 million.

While Arnault sits on top, Bezos's net worth stands at $194.9 billion dollars followed by Elon Musk at $185.5 billion dollars, which is also on the third position.
