MUMBAI: Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) today said it has bagged Rs 635 crore worth electrical projects in the Gulf region.
The four projects would be executed by electrical projects and gulf operation vertical of L&T's construction division, L&T said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Of these, two orders, valued at Rs 521 crore, were secured from Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority for construction of five substations, the filing added.
The substation projects would be completed within 18 months, the company said, adding that the contract also comprises design and construction of civil buildings.
The company is already executing 13 substation projects in Abu Dhabi and the new order reinforces its strong presence in this business in the UAE, the company added.
Further, L&T's subsidiary L&T (Oman) LLC at Muscat has bagged two orders valued at Rs 114 crore for construction of substations.
The orders were received from Oman Electricity and Transmission Company and Muscat Electricity Distribution Company.
Shares of L&T were trading at Rs 2,966, down 1.01 per cent in afternoon trade on BSE.
