The new Parliament Building of India was inaugurated on May 27 but no sessions have been conducted in the newly built structure yet. The new Parliament building was designed by Bimal Patel.
Bimal Patel is a leading name in the field of architecture and is behind the designer of the iconic building. A Gujarat-based architect, Bimal Patel is the man behind the Kashi Vishwanath corridor and the first of its kind Sabarmati Riverfront project.
Who is Bimal Patel?
Bimal Hasmukh Patel is a renowned architect with more than three decades of experience. Patel is the President of CEPT University in Ahmedabad. He also heads the HCP Design Planning and Management Private Limited. The HCP Design Planning and Management Pvt Ltd. was founded by his father Hasmukh C Patel in 1960.
Bimal Patel went to St. Xavier's High School in Ahmedabad. After completing his school, he went to the School of Architecture, Center for Environmental Planning and Technology, CEPT. Bimal also went to UC Berkeley in the US to earn a PhD in 1995.

Bimal Patel has been awarded many prestigious awards including the Padma Shri in 2019.
As per reports, Bimal Patel's firm will be paid Rs 229.75 crore for its consultancy services for the ambitious project including the new Parliament.
