Many couples in India have started their entrepreneurial journey after resigning from their jobs. They got the idea for their business after facing problems in real life. However, after successfully running their companies for several years, they sold them and moved on to their next journey. One such couple is Anupam Dhanuka and Anshu Dhanuka. The husband-wife duo founded Kiddopia in 2012. It is a popular children’s digital gamified learning app. With Kiddopia, the couple's goal was to address the lack of good educational content in the digital age.

Now, the two are set to get richer by Rs 300 crore due sale of their company to Nazara Technologies Ltd. The company has announced the acquisition of an additional 48.42% stake in Paper Boat Apps Pvt. Ltd. (PBA) from its promoters Anupam and Anshu Dhanuka for Rs 300 crore. The amount is to be paid in cash in tranches to take its ownership in PBA to 100%.

Paper Boat Apps is the developer and publisher of Kiddopia. It is a subscription-based app designed for children aged between 2 and 7. Nazara had picked up a 51 per cent stake in Kiddopia’s parent firm, Paper Boat Apps, at a valuation of about Rs 154 crore in 2019.

Before co-founding Paper Boat Apps, Anupam Dhanuka worked at Morgan Stanley and Dolby. He studied at Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Mumbai. Whereas, Anshu Dhanuka holds a BMS from the University of Mumbai. She has been working at Kiddopia for the past 12 years.
