Meet IIM alumnus who leads Rs 54,332 crore company as MD, CEO

She has nearly 25 years of rich and varied experience. She did her PGDBM in Marketing from the India Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore.

There are several IIT, IIM alumni who are leading top companies in India. One such person is Prabha Narasimhan, who is an IIM Bangalore alumnus and is leading Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The company is a leading subsidiary of the Colgate-Palmolive.

Narasimhan joined the company in September 2022 as MD and CEO. Before this, she was with Hindustan Unilever (HUL), where she led the Home Care category as Executive Director and served as a member of the HUL Leadership Team. She worked there for almost 15 years in various roles. She now heads CP India which has a market capitalisation of Rs 54,332 crore as of September 20. The share price of the company on NSE was Rs 2,003.30 on Wednesday.

Narasimhan has nearly 25 years of rich and varied experience in customer development, consumer marketing and innovation across geographies and multiple categories, including home care, foods, personal and skin care. She did her PGDBM in Marketing from the India Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore (1995-97). She did her fifth semester at Melbourne Business School.

CP India is the market leader in Oral Care, manufacturing and marketing toothpastes, toothpowder, toothbrushes, oil pulling products and mouthwashes under the Colgate brand. The business also offers a specialized range of personal care products under the Palmolive brand.
