As the Chairperson of Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited, Nina has quietly developed her empire and carved out a place for herself in the business world.

Nina was born into the esteemed Ambani family. Nina is the daughter of the late Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance Industries. She started her entrepreneurial journey in 2003 and launched the Javagreen food and coffee franchise. Although Javagreen was not as popular as other major coffee chains, it revealed Nina’s entrepreneurial acumen.

In 1986, she married businessman Bhadrashyam Kothari, who died of cancer in 2015. She lives with her daughter, Nayantara Kothari, and son, Arjun Kothari. Struggling with the sole responsibility of raising their two children, Arjun and Nayantara, Nina found herself faced a dilemma. Despite this, she embraced the challenge and took responsibility of their family business, Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited.

Nina Kothari’s appointment as Chairperson on April 8, 2015, was a turning point in her life. She led the business to success with unwavering patience and tenacity, solidifying its standing as the flagship enterprise of the HC Kothari Group. As a reflection of Nina's persistent determination, Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited is currently located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Besides her role as Chairperson, Nina is in charge of two other companies run by the HC Kothari Group: Kothari Petrochemicals Limited and Kothari Safe Deposits Limited.

Arjun Kothari, her eldest son, works with his mother to grow the family business as the Managing Director of Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited. In contrast, Nayantara, Nina's daughter, is wed to Shamit Bhartia, KK Birla's grandson and the son of Shyam and Shobhana Bhartia.

Nina has an enormous financial worth, much like her brother. Corporate shareholdings show that Nina has a net worth of more than Rs 52.4 crores and owns two publicly traded stocks. Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. is a company in the sugar industry with a market capitalization of Rs. 435 crores, according to ICICI Direct.
