The 37-year-old had to leave their study after Class 10 to support his family. He then started working with a retail store as an attendant in 2004 with a Rs 1500 monthly salary. He switched many jobs for many years to earn well. He also invested in several things but lost the money. His luck changed in 2013 when he saw an advertisement of a newly launched ride-hailing app. He immediately understood that he could make a profit in this work.

Ashfaque joined the platform as a part-time driver, and secured a cheap and small car through the company’s special programme. He initially managed both jobs -- working at a retail store and part-time driver.

After his earnings grew, he made Rs 35,000 from the store and Rs 15,000 a month as a driver. His sister also helped him to buy another car. Ashfaque later applied for a bank of Rs 10 lakh to buy three more cars to expand his business. The man now owns 400 cars and wants 100 more cars to expand his fleet to 500.
