Ayodhya Ram Temple is now open to the public after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the rituals for ‘pran pratishtha’ of Lord Ram’s idol. The temple consecration was celebrated by people across the globe and the beauty of the prestigious Ram Temple in Ayodhya left many mesmerised. While there are several key names behind the enthralling beauty of Ayodhya Ram Mandir, one name that has made it to the headlines several times is Larsen & Toubro (L&T). For those who are unaware, L&T is the engineering and construction conglomerate that has designed and built the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. With a market cap of Rs 491000 crore, it is being spearheaded by SN Subrahmanyan. A civil engineer and an MBA, SN Subrahmanyan was hired by L&T in 1984 and he has been associated with the firm since then.
SN Subrahmanyan is the chairman and managing director of L&T. He has been leading the construction giant as CEO and MD since July 2017. He recently took over as chairman of L&T Group after the current chairman AM Naik stepped down from his position. Subrahmanyan also serves on the board of directors of this multi-billion dollar conglomerate. It is an Indian multinational conglomerate with business interests in engineering, construction, manufacturing, technology etc.
Subrahmanyan hails from Chennai. He started his professional journey with L&T in 1984 as a project planning engineer. He holds a degree in civil engineering and a post-graduation in business management (MBA). He also did an Executive Management Programme at the London Business School. He is married to Meena Subrahmanyan. The duo have two children.
He is also Vice Chairman on the boards of LTIMindtree and L&T Technology Services, Chairman of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited, and Director and Chairperson of L&T Finance Holdings Ltd.
In FY22, he earned a salary package of Rs 61.27 crore, which is around Rs 16,70,000 per day. This was a 115 percent hike in the previous year's salary. He had taken a massive salary cut the previous year.
