The chairman and CEO of Adobe, a global provider of computer software with its headquarters located in San Jose, California, is Shantanu Narayen. The Economic Times claims that the IT company has significant development operations in Bengaluru and Noida, India. The company report states that Adobe's revenue for 2023 was $19.41 billion, or roughly Rs 1.6 lakh crore.
Shantanu Narayen was employed by Apple from 1989 until 1995, when he joined Adobe. During his tenure at the tech company, the 60-year-old businessman held senior management positions in product development. Shantanu was a co-founder of Pictra, a photo-sharing startup that helped establish the online digital photo-sharing model in 1996. Notably, Narayen serves as Lead Independent Director on the Pfizer Board of Directors.
Shantanu Narayen is from a distinguished Hyderabadi family. His father owned a plastics company, and his mother taught literature. The businessman graduated from Osmania University (UCE), Hyderabad's University College of Engineering with a bachelor's degree in electronics and communication engineering.
After that, he relocated to the US to pursue his education. He now has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in computer science from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Shantanu was awarded the Padma Shri in 2019 and presently possesses five patents. Narayen joined the Management Advisory Board of US President Barack Obama in 2011.
Shantanu Narayen is wed to Reni, a friend from university who holds a PhD in clinical psychology. The pair has two sons under their care.
