Rags to riches success stories make us believe in the true power of hard work, passion and  dedication. One such inspiring story is of Kunwar Sachdev.

Belonging to Delhi's Punjabi Bagh, Kunwer Sachdev was raised in a railway clerk's family. In 1984, after his graduation, Kunwer began his journey with his brother's pen business on streets. Kunwer funded his school fees by selling pens door-to-door, as he couldn't get admission to medical school and had to leave his dream of becoming a doctor. He used to sell pens door-to-door for a small income.

However, the power outages in the city became a massive issue, which needed a reliable power backup solution. Inspired by this, he founded Su-Kam in 1998.

Kunwer faced initial failures, with inverters encountering issues. Unperturbed, he innovated and built products that surpassed that of competitors in price and quality.

Su-Kam, then became the first and largest Indian power company to export its products globally, by expanded into the Middle East, Bangladesh, Africa, and Nepal.

He continued to aspire for a 'Make in India' revolution, striving to make Su-Kam a global brand. Despite failures, he scaled Su-Kam into the solar energy industry, ruling markets far and wide. However, some failures led Su-Kam into bankruptcy, leaving clients dejected.

During the adversities, Kunwer's wife, Khushboo Sachdev, stepped up. Establishing Su-vastika under Kunwer's mentorship, she garnered support from friends and distributors, relinquishing the brand.

Presently, he owns a business worth Rs 2300 crores. He is also famous as Inverter Man of India. His success is a beacon to the resilience of dreams. From the streets to global markets, he proved that you will be successful if you have the right attitude, determination and belief in your dreams.
