The 67-year-old billionaire, who heads Rs 2105000 crore market cap Reliance Industries, has a real-time net worth of USD 120.3 billion, as per Forbes. Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani's three children who joined the board of Reliance in 2023. The Ambani family often makes headlines due to their business empire. It is the Hartono family in Indonesia which ranks second among Asia’s wealthiest with a reported net worth of USD 38.8 billion or Rs 324870 crore. The continent is home to many other wealthiest families including Hartono. The family’s wealth began with the Djarum Group, a major player in the cigarette industry. The group was started by their father Oei Wie Gwan in 1951.

It is one of Indonesia's largest cigarette manufacturers. The company has grown significantly under the leadership of the Hartono brothers. However, the Hartono brothers R Budi and Michael get most of their fortune from investments in Bank Central Asia. It is Indonesia’s largest private bank. The duo's diversified interests now include electronics, property, and agribusiness. The family's holdings include popular electronics brand Polytron and prime real estate in Jakarta. The Hartono family’s business has significantly contributed to economic growth in Indonesia.
