Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani was conferred the prestigious chemical industry award, the Othmer Gold Medal, for his entrepreneurial leadership in the oil and gas industry.
A statement from RIL said the award was conferred on him for his role in expanding the petroleum refining industry in the country, apart from creating the Jamnagar refinery, which is the largest grassroots oil refinery in the world.
The award was given away last evening in Philadelphia, US by the Heritage Day of The Chemical Heritage Foundation.
