Asia's richest man and one of India's most valuable companies Reliances Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, and his wife Nita Ambani recently organised the wedding of their youngest son Anant Ambani to Radhika Merchant, Viren Merchant, and Shaila Merchant's daughter. The wedding took place on July 12 at Jio World Drive in Mumbai. 

Ever since Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding was announced, it has been the talk of the town, especially for the amount of money that the Ambani family spent to make Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's day memorable. 

The Ambani family hosted two pre-wedding celebrations - one in Jamnagar and the other on a cruise ship in Italy. The wedding itself saw some of the richest and most popular people in attendance including Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Meta Platforms co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, former UK PM Tony Blair, and US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, among several others.

Many celebrities were also in attendance including Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, John Cena, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Ranveer Singh. 

Multiple media reports have revealed that Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani spent a whopping Rs 5000 crore on Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding which had over 2000 guests in attendance from around the world. 

You will be surprised to know that, Rs 5000 crore, in context, is just 0.5% of the net worth of Mukesh Ambani.

As of today, Mukesh Ambani's net worth is a whopping $121.2 billion i.e. over Rs 10 lakh crore. Despite spending a whopping Rs 5000 crore on his son's wedding, there wasn't much of a difference in Mukesh Ambani's earnings. 

Reports state that there was an increase in Mukesh Ambani's wealth by Rs 25000 crore. On July 5, Mukesh Ambani's net worth was around $118 billion. It jumped to $121.2 billion only in the last few days. According to the data on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mukesh Ambani's net worth has increased by $22.5 billion so far this year, which is Rs 1.88 lakh crore in Indian currency.
