Nachiket Mor appointed as head of Bill and Melinda Gates foundation in India

The central board member of Reserve Bank of India, Nachiket Mor will head Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in India from March, said a Live Mint report.

Presently, Girindre Beeharry is the director of country office of foundation after being appointed in 2012.

As per the report, Mor was associated with ICICI Bank for 20 years from 1987. Later, he became a member of bank's board in 2001. For four years, from 2007 to 2011, he served as the founding president of ICICI Foundation along with his association with governing council of IFMR Trust and Board Chair on FINO and CARE India.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is the world's largest private philanthropy organization, with a $40 billion endowment. It aims to tackle disease and poverty in the developing world.
