A total of 22,286 foreign tourists arrived on e-Tourist visa in August this year as compared to 2,705 during the same month last year registering a growth of 723.9%.
At present e-Tourist Visa facility is available for citizens of 113 countries arriving at 16 Airports across the country.
A total of 1,69,976 tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa during January-August period this year as compared to 17,120 during the corresponding period in 2014 showing a growth of 892.9%, according to Tourism Ministry data.
Maximum tourists from USA (25.93%) availed the e-visa facility followed by Germany (10%), UAE (8.92%), France (8.76%), Australia (7.20%) and Canada (6.39%) among the top 10 source countries.
