His historic feat of clinching India's maiden boxing medal in the Olympics continues to fetch rewards for Vijender Singh as he has been signed on by soft drink giant Pepsi as its brand ambassador.
Vijender is currently in Czech Republic gearing up to compete in his first competitive event since winning the middle weight bronze medal in Beijing last August.
"Vijender as Pepsi's new brand ambassador reflects the 'Youngistaani' attitude and self-belief, as he is self-made backed by a 'Can Do' spirit and is an inspiration for this young confident generation to follow their dreams," said Pepsi's executive vice president (Marketing) Singh Arora.
"We are very proud to associate with Vijender and look forward to a long and exciting relationship and wish him all the best for his upcoming tournament," he added.
Vijender, meanwhile, said he was glad to have signed up with the brand.
"I am excited to be associated with an iconic youth brand like Pepsi. It is certainly a great privilege to join Pepsi's league of such eminent achievers," he said.
