Blackberry-maker Research in Motion has launched new Middle East services, the firm's co-chief executive said, after it resolved a row with the United Arab Emirates over data security earlier this month.
The services include e-government and online banking payment for consumers in the Middle East, co-chief Jim Balsillie told reporters on Monday at an industry event in the UAE city of Dubai.
Earlier this month the UAE dropped a threat to suspend BlackBerry services.
RIM has been in dispute this year with a number of countries in the Gulf and elsewhere over its encrypted email and messaging services, which governments want monitored.
