SBI customers might face inconvenience accessing YONO on Sunday

The State Bank of India has asked its customers to “bear with” it on November 22 as the bank will be upgrading its internet banking platform.

State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest lender, has issued a fresh notice that the bank’s customers might face some inconvenience while accessing INB/YONO/YONO Lite on November 22.

SBI has asked its customers to “bear with” it on November 22 as the bank will be upgrading its internet banking platform. “We request our esteemed customers to bear with us as we upgrade our internet banking platform to provide for a better online banking experience,” SBI has tweeted.

The number of customers using SBI internet banking facilities is nearly 81 million and mobile banking services stand a little more than 18 million. 

YONO is an integrated digital and lifestyle platform by SBI. It has crossed the landmark of 66 million downloads. YONO which has 28.5 million registered users, witnesses between 7.5 to 8 million logins per day, as per SBI.

Earlier on Tuesday, alerted its customers to not fall for online fraud which has been on the rise. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, SBI requested customers to be careful and vigilant. "SBI customers are requested to be alert on Social Media and not fall for any misleading and fake messages," the country's top lender said in a tweet.

"We request our customers to be cautious of fake/ misleading messages circulating on social media purportedly on behalf of SBI," the bank further added.

The bank also shared a 20-second video clip asking customers to not share confidential details online. "Be vigilant, be safe. While interacting with us on social media, please check account verification and do not share confidential details online," SBI tweeted along with the video.

Earlier on November 3 as well, SBI updated its customers about safety measures they should take to tackle banking frauds amidst rising cases of fraudsters looking to target customers who are now engaging in online transactions amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
