Sensex eases by over 53 pts in thin trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange key index displayed a weak trend in morning dealings on Monday following negative global advices.

MUMBAI: In limited deals, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Monday declined by over 53 points mainly due to political developments and surging crude oil prices.
 
The Sensex fell by 53.87 points to 10,812.64 after moving in both directions -- to a low of 10,780.01 and a high of 10,869.66 points.
 
Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty moved between 3,178.50 and 3,142.55 before ending lower by 25.65 points at 3,151.10 points.

The BSE sensitive index opened slightly lower at 10863.28 and moved down to a low of 10789.51 before being quoted at 10828.39 at 10.45 am, down by 38.12 points against last Friday's close of 10866.51.
 
Bearish global trend and slow down in institutional inflows mainly impacted negatively on the market sentiment, dealers said.
 
Among index-based shares RIL, ONGC, Tatastl, Wipro, Satyam Comp, TCS, SBI Maruti, L&T, Hero Honda, Grasim, Dr Reddy, Bajaj Auto, ACC, HDFC, & HDFC BNK, were quoted remarkable lower on selling pressure.
