The Tamil Nadu Global Investors' Meet is currently underway in the state. The event has seen huge attendance from the who's who of India Inc, and several foreign delegations.

The Tamil Nadu Global Investors' Meet is currently underway in the state. The event has seen huge attendance from the who's who of India Inc, and several foreign delegations. 

Here's a list of all those who pledged investments into the state on day 1 of the GIM, and how much.

1.    HCL to invest nearly Rs 6,635 crore  – Shiv Nadar, Chairman, HCL, declared that will set up development centres in Tirunelveli and Madurai to the tune of $41 billion over the next five years.

2.    SunEdison Inc to invest Rs 12,000 to 14,000 crore – The renewable energy company's President and Managing Director Pashupathy Gopalan stated that the company will invest Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000 crore over the next five years in the state, by setting up new wind and solar power projects.

3.    Adani Group to invest Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 crore – Gautam S Adani, Chairman, Adani Group, stated that the company will invest between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 crore by setting up a 650MW solar plant, power and non-renewable power projects.

4.    MRF Tyres to invest Rs 6,600 crore – The biggest tyre plant from the firm will be set up at Perambalur, in Tamil Nadu, at an investment of Rs 6,600 crore.

5.    Mahindra & Mahindra to invest Rs 4,000 crore – The company will invest Rs 4,000 crore over the next five years on an automotive plant and setting up Mahindra Research Valley.

6.    Delta India Electronics to invest Rs 4,000 crore – A manufacturing facility at Hosur to be set up at an investment of Rs 4,000 crore.

7.    ITC to invest Rs 2,500 crore – ITC chairman Y C Deveshwar stated they will be setting up a hotel in Coimbatore, and a food processing unit at an investment of Rs 2,500 crore.

8.    Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd to invest Rs 1,600 crore – A Yamaha plant is coming up in Kancheepuram district that will employ about 3,900 people.

9.    TICEL Bio Park II to be built at a cost of Rs 168 crore – This facility will be a hub for areas like biotechnology, Bio IT, nanotechnology, research and development.

10. Yes Bank to invest Rs 120 crore – Rana Kapoor, MD and CEO of Yes Bank, has said they will open the bank’s largest service operations centre in Ambattur, Chennai at a cost of over Rs 120 crore.

 11. TVS Motor to spend Rs 800 crore on expansion – TVS Motor's unit is already functional in Hosur; the company will spend another Rs 800 crore to expand the facility.
