MUMBAI: Tata Coffee Ltd is likely to export about 14,000 tonnes of coffee in 2007-08, slightly higher from a year ago, on rising demand from Russia and hopes of higher output, a top official said on Tuesday.
The company exported about 13,000 tonnes in 2006-07, MH Ashraff, managing director of Tata Coffee, said. “We are expecting a much better crop this year...We are likely to produce around 9,000 tonnes of coffee this year,” said Ashraff.
The company is also planning to open six more retail outlets under the brand name Mr Bean Junction by the end of this financial year, Ashraff said.
“We already have a retail outlet in Kochi and we are opening another retail outlet in Coimbatore, which will be made operational by middle of next month,” he said.
