Tata Motors has just launched its Tiago hatch at an introductory price of Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The ex-showroom price of the new hatch for Mumbai is Rs 3.4 lakh.
The Tiago, which was initially called the Zica, was renamed after the widespread outbreak of the Zika virus which prompted the company to rename the car.
The Tiago gets both, a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol variant will get Tata's 1.2-litre Revotron engine and the diesel gets the 1.05-litre Revotorq.
Both the petrol and the diesel variants get five trims each -- XB, XE, XM, XT, and the XZ.
The Tiago will go up against the Maruti Celerio, the recently-launched Renault Kwid, and the Hyundai Eon.
